FAQ's
mineral paintings   hex signs   graphic design   webdesign   other art

The work you see on this website is an example of what I do for a living, so if you are looking to hire someone to make your website or design some graphics, feel free to contact Justin at, Justin@minwreck.com for more information on prices and availability.

1. Do you accept commissions for mineral specimen paintings/hex signs/other art?

I do accept commissions, but I judge each on a case by case basis. Normal turn-a-round time is 6 to 12 months for mineral specimen paintings, and 1 to 3 months for hex signs/misc. This is due to the large number of projects that I am working on at any given time. So please keep this in mind if you are thinking of giving a painting to that special person as a gift.

2. What are your prices for website design?

It all depends on how much work goes into it, but my website packages start at as low as $300. Most of the sites I’ve built have been no more than $1,500.00. Average price is around $1200.00 to $1500.00 for a complete, stocked, ready to go, website. Normal turn-a-round time is about 2 weeks, but no more than 3 weeks, from the start date. I can design websites for all expirience levels using html, xtml, css, java, and php to create the perfect website for your needs. Even if you have no knowledge of html of any sort, I can design you a website that is simple and easy to use. All functionality can be accessed through simple fill in the blank forms that look like this.

3. Do you have prints of your artwork?

No, At this time I am not offering prints of my artwork.

4. How can I see your artwork in person?

My artwork can be seen at The Uncarved Block Gallery in Santa Rosa, California. You can contact the owner, Pu Tzu, at PuStuff@gmail.com for more information. Sometimes I also showcase my pieces at mineral shows and if you are in Tucson you can come by and view my current works. (by appointment only, please)

5. I love the mineral specimen paintings, but where are the actual minerals?

Each one of my paintings is based on a real life specimen. This specimen is included along with the painting at no additional cost to you.

6. Can I use your images on my website or livejournal or myspace?

Private, non-commercial use of my images is allowed as long as my agent is contacted prior to use. Please send an email to Justin@zzyzxminerals.com explaining what it is you would like to do with my image. You will then be sent an email explaining your specific terms of use.

Thank-You for your corroporation in this matter.

7. I just want a kick ass banner. What can you do?

I can crank you out a great banner, just like the ones featured here, for a VERY low price. ($15-$30) I can also design a graphic package for your website for as low as $100!

8. I’ve seen other paintings at shows I’ve been to, but they're not on your website. Where are they?

In 2005 I produced 28 mineral paintings, but as I was just starting out, I didn't think to get slides made of them. DOH! Some of the paintings are being photographed shortly, others went to clients I don’t know at all, and two of them were stolen out of our car. (Karma will squish those people, so it’s not so bad.)
